WHAT IS POLISHED AI ART?

I can edit images better than I can draw, so I use AI to help generate the rough artwork for my custom cards. Sometimes it takes many attempts and quite a bit of time just to create an image worth working with.

Once I have a solid starting image, I use programs such as Canva, GIMP and Photoshop to correct, rebuild and improve it. Common edits include backgrounds, logos, faces, heads, hands, colors and other details the AI didn't get right. Once everything is cleaned up, I prepare the finished front and back as print-ready CMYK files.

By this point, the image has usually undergone enough changes and alterations that I consider the finished piece original custom artwork, as do many other custom card makers in the space. However, in the spirit of complete transparency, I still describe it as polished AI art. I want you, as the collector, to know exactly what you are looking at without any questions or doubt.

WHAT DOES HANDCRAFTED MEAN?

After finishing the artwork, I print the front and back as separate layers. Some cards may include a third or even fourth layer to create additional depth or special effects. The price of each card reflects the materials, time and work involved.

Most standard cards have two layers. Single-layer cards are the most economical option because they require less time and fewer materials.

Once every layer is printed, I carefully align and press them together so the front and back match properly and remain securely bonded. I then cut out and finish each card by hand.

Booklet cards are carefully creased, folded and assembled. Slabbed customs are individually marked, signed and placed into their slabs. Unless otherwise stated, each slabbed custom is marked as a one-of-one.

Because every card is assembled and finished by hand, slight variations may occur. These are custom novelty collectibles created for display and enjoyment; they are not officially licensed or manufactured trading cards.
